Calling all experienced painters that have used spaz stix chrome paint with ultimate chrome backer in black and clear.
So I've been having an annoyance when painting chrome . I use bitty design liquid mask. The issue is when I go to peel the liquid mask after the chrome has been sprayed the liquid mask tends to pull either the backer right off the chrome or all the chrome outline all together. I have tried many different methods including the following.
Sprayed the liquid mask thin, same issue
Sprayed the liquid mask thick, same issue
Sprayed a lighter coat of chrome with black backer and clear backer
I've sprayed the chrome normal , normal being when it's slightly foggy in the light. I have also sprayed the chrome and have let it dry for 24 hrs before spraying the backer . I still seem to peel the chrome paint or the backer and it leaves my paint work looking very disappointing . If anyone has had these issues and has a remedy let me know please. Also I prep all my bodies prior to paint using water and isopropyl alcohol .
